Hmmmmm. That can't be right about price for new seats. FQ-300 seats are only $1600 a seat I believe.

 

I'm not saying it's right. But I wasn't drunk when I stared at the computer monitor. Where's Fireball when we need him. He works at a dealership I believe and could possibly confirm/deny the cost of both front seats from Mitsu.

Anyone else out there that works for a dealership and can tell us what the cost of two front seats would be if warranty didn't cover it?

 

I had the seat frame replaced on my drivers seat because of the same problem. and just like winston i also work for porsche and notice a lot of the seat problems on porsches recaros. black plastic frame that the material is attached to pulls out of the back of the seats.

Realistically, it's a $100k car if you bought all the parts seperately from the dealership. That's how they make money.

the price for the seats IS right. my seats were stolen and this is the estimate i got for replacing them. the seat does not come as one piece so they have to order every single piece and than put it together. ie:

4 bolts
botton part
back part
fabric
left rail

etc...

 

my dealership would do something like that!!! "that intake added 5 hp, and these seats where only made for 271hp not 276!!!"

 

if made 4500 of these cars and each had 2 that means there was 9000 seats. why didnt they just make them 1 peice????

 

In reality, they do make them in one piece. Kinda. Think of it like a hospital. They like to charge you for every single thing you use while you are there. That means itemized down to the very last pill you took. Car companies make a ton of monmey on fixes because they make every part more than it's really worth and then sell you everything individual.

Yes. you are correct the seats are 1360.65 for the bottoms...and 1629.57 for the backings. That does not include any of the hardware...the plasic peices on the sides or any of the slider assembly. I work in a mits parts dept. and am looking at the reynolds and reynolds screen now as I type with the pricing on it. On the break down the seat is sold in about 20 different parts. But as in pricing for the both seats for just the seating surfaces your looking at 5980.44 plus tax.

 

hmm, i think i might buy some of these and make a gaming chair out of them!!!!
