I'm running 255/35 star specs on my X wheels and they seem to fit perfectly. As for the 255/40's i'm not sure nor have I really seen any pics.

With how cheap the stockers are sold for there is no reason to not get them. The stock VIII and IV wheels are gross so it would be a cheap upgrade

it depends how much you're dropped. I'm dropped 2" in the front and 1.5 in the back. I only rub inside the fender lining on full turns and thats about it.
