I looked into doing the same thing, and after trying to assess the full potential of the Genesis, I still have the Evo. For me, it was mostly the power to weight ratio, with less traction. IIRC the weight was similar, without AWD, and with a more "pushed" stock turbo system compared to Evo's corked stock nature.
Do you really feel that the Genesis has the performance potential comparable to the Evo?

I have to give you props here. It's hard as hell trying to step into anything else after you've had an evo. You've got ***** to take the leap.
Besides, I'm not even gonna lie, the genesis coupe has always made me double take on the streets. It's a good looking car - as is the new Sonata.
Best of luck in this RWD chapter of your life!!

Just to clarify, I'm not hating. I genuinely am interested in the Genesis coupe and its potential, and was wondering if you are anticipating serious performance, comparable to the Evo.

Nice choice. The Genesis coup is a nice car and I wouldn't consider it a down grade. It's better looking and has a much better interior. I'm not sure what all the fan boys around here are smoking, but for a sports car rwd>awd>fwd.

I disagree...look at how many supercars are awd now... And we have to remember that we're not comparing apples to apples here. These are two entirely different breeds of cars, both having their own strengths and weaknesses. The Evo was born so Mitsu could run it in the WRC (don't have to tell you guys that) whereas the Hyundai is designed for a road course. I will say that Hyundai has really been stepping it up in the quality and performance of their cars in recent years...unfortunately the prices have stepped up along with it. It all comes down to each person's preferences. Given the option, I would stick with my Evo...I've never loved a car more, out of the 35 or so I've owned.
