Tips for first car show

I signed up for a club-sponsored trip to the Glen and it includes a car show. I've never had a car in a show. Aside from having a very clean car, barring any modifications, what can you guys tell me? I'll probably have the only Evo there. Thanks.

Obligatory pic included.

Just detail everything, engine bay, under carriage, small parts. I've never entered but I can tell the effort that goes in to some vehicles that win.

Also, please don't use the lame cotton around your wheels to simulate "burnout"

agreed. also keep your music to a minimum. and drive like an adult. bring some detailer with you so when you get there you can give it a quick once over.

Is that what the cotton means? I've always wondered....

I'm in my mid-40s and I'm bound to be one of the younger folks there.

You've never visited the detailing forum, have you?

i havent entered any cars, but i have helped. I'd say just detail the hell out of your car! Interior, engine bay, exterior etc. But make sure you pick a nice spot to park so your car can attract more attention.

Do you plan on winning?

EDIT:

Maybe i jumped the gun. You have a clean Daily car yet what car show are you going to? Minus the wheels and rear bumper the car looks factory.

bring the following:

- chair(s)
- drinks + food (food is usually expensive at shows)
- instant-detailer and a few rags
- tire gloss (gloss ur tires once u get there)
- camera
- comfortable shoes

- leave ur windows closed and doors locked if u leave your car (you'd be surprised at what people do)
- don't leave your car for too long
- don't expect to win anything (ricers with 20 tv's and retarded stuff always beat a clean car)
- enjoy and have a great time

Depnding on the judges I'd have to disagree with nocturnal. I've seen some cars that are factory looking (minus wheels and a drop like you Felix) but with uber clean swirl free paint that won the NOPI nats quite a few years. Since I know Felix is a detail freak and as you can see from the pic the car will be spotless upon arrival.

What kind of car show it though mate? Mainly classics? A mix? etc?

It'll probably be a mix of sports cars, a conservative, older crowd. I would think that a riced-out atrocity would be laughed at, but you never know. I've never been to this type of event, so I'm not really sure what's involved. I'm hooping to a good (err...) showing on the next day when we hit the Glen.

I'm just going based off the car shows i've done in the NY-NJ-PA area over the past 10 years lol

It could be different in other parts of the country possibly.
