EVO IX front plate with no holes in bumper! Self made solution

Well here in WI, you have to have a front plate, and they will pick you out and nail you for it. There was no way in hell I was going to drill holes in my bumper so I came up with a cheap and mostly simple solution.

To remove plate for track days for photos, just remove one 12mm bolt.

This is just a simple aluminum pin I made with an M8 stud on the end. with an M8 bolt holding the plate on the aluminum pin. The only thing required was I had to drill out the current M6 threaded hole in the bumper support/crashbar and tap it with an M8 tap. The small M6 bolt was just kinda flimsy. Took about 5 minutes once the bumper cover was off.
Just for added protection I put a few pieces of foam tape on the back of the plate just in case it were to make contact with the bumper, it would not scratch the paint.

Another bright idea for those wanting to film your track days...you can attach a camera/video mount on that same aluminum pin! Someone else already did this and created a thread and showed a video..rock solid!

Good job on your quick fix!

That is actually an awesome idea...no modifying any of the actual body work itself!

looks good, but you should move it over a little to the right to get it completely out of the way of the intercooler.

this is a good idea if you must have a front plate, but I think the best one I've seen yet is the guy that got the vinyl made of his plate and just stuck it on the front.

On the street, I'm not to worried about the air flow to the IC. ETS IC, not much for mods on the car yet. I might add a license plate from on the plate to give it a lil nicer look. I might make a few of these and sell em from time to time. We'll see.

I have been driving my car without a front license for 3 years now, and I've never been pulled over for it.

On the other hand, my friend bought an 08 civic, didn't have the license plate, they pulled him over the second day haha.
