Actually, the plates cant be changed as the Evo VI really came out in 1999, which would have a W starting plate if it was an original one. The car must have been a 1996 Lancer, or the 1st series of "Lancer pizza" since it got a U starting plate.

The bumper is an original Evo VI that came with the half cut stuff. Another revealing thing, if you look closely, are the rear seat headrest. The CP9A that were sold did not rave headrests at the rear seats.

 

Correct, the CP9A uses a black dash, both RHD and LHD models.

Uh maybe he's gonna take it to shows! I dnt know about Louisiana but MADDDDDD people have converted civics, and 240sx, and other cars to RHD in Jersey and NY. We got a ****ing Nissan Pulsar, a Evo 7, an Accord wagon driving around daily and they are straight from Japan! I hate when people like you think somebody is dumb for asking a ****ing question. They have categories in car show for best JDM car.

Major exterior update

Should I go with an authentic EVO V Trunk and Wing or paint the whole car?

It's a hard choice but I decided to paint the whole car - EVO IX Rally Red Color
