Lol I am the one that bought your V. If the OP likes I can sell him the V headlights and the Oem Momo wheel. I can provide pictures upon request. There is also a guy parting out a IV near me.

I am confuse why you wouldnt just save the money and buy a real evo 4-6? they are rare sure. but you only need to find one. the conversions are always loaded with potential head aches. cost more than buying a genuine one. wont ever be as nice a real mccoy. evo chassis is stiff, mirage chassis is weak. plus cool RHD...

here, have these guys ship you a complete evo V. all oem, just transfer everything over. Hell, even the RHD.

i'm not saying to do that, just use it as a parts car. just the clip alone off ebay can go upwards to 3-4k and 600-1k to ship. these guys will ship it to the port in L.A. with the papers saying it's either a race car or parts car, and customs will release it. you just have to trailor it to the final spot. That's not a prob for me since I have a flat bed trailor, and live about 6-7 hours away from the port in L.A.

just an idea if you want to go crazy.

here's an email from them when I was asking about importing a 1989 GTR,

Yes we can do this in Tokyo at our shop, if the car is 1996 and under then we can import it through Canada first so we won't have to remove the drive train. Also we don't have to register the car as a kit car, it gets titled/registered as a normal car. I attached a title for you to see. You cost is going to be around $4,500 to $5,000 delivered to the U.S. ready to drive.

Hello,

I was curious as to if you would do something like send the vehicle to a third party company for body reinforcement and drive train removal? There was a company a few years named Kaizo Motorsports that would prepare the shell, ship the shell and motor separate allowing the car to be registered as a kit car. I was just curious as to if you support such a function.

Very Respectfully,
Eric Nelson

and you'd be in jail.....

from what i can tell, this is a true enthuisast of cars.... I true enthuisast enjoys the challenge of making a car their own, their own choice of colors and such...

To get an 7 or older Evo in the states legal to drive is next to impossible. This car can and will be driven at any / all times without issues.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't understand what you were talking about. Thanks for the post

/\ yup.

it might cost up to 3k-5k to have it shipped, but instead of getting each and every piece from a different place, you will have the actual car there to source all the parts from. small things like bolts you still might have to get, but in short, you'll have all the parts since you won't be able to drive the car from japan.

Good luck, I'll be watching this thread.

I was referring to finding one in USA already registered legal. (dont pm me on that, I bought mine with good US titles and JDM vin) but if I were building one like this thread I absolutely would buy from tradeveiw. cut car in half, and transfer all parts to US shell. cheapest and best way to do it. buying piece by piece is nutso.

the only states you can get away with registering cars like the evo V is states like florida and arizona. both states could care less about the cars that drive on their roads. that's why there's a ton of skylines and other random imports in FL and AZ. even though they are titled and registered, ICE can still swing by and sieze it. but they are only after skylines, it seems.

I wonder how much they would charge me to ship a V, that I currently own here in Japan to the US.
