Does anyone know for sure if the JDM Ralliart guage cluster is capable of being updated to the current mileage of your car?

Is the info stored in the cluster itself or in the ECU?

I know of a couple vendors that are selling these items , but no one seems to know for sure if they can be updated.

Stored in the cluster. You'd need a government official to note the milage before and after the change so you can't scam somebody.

wait...its THAT easy to scam someone on mileage? just change out the cluster? thats shady....esp with older model Hondas and such

 

Yea, I think if you buy one from the dealership though, they automatically put it in a vehicle history report. So if any potential buyer runs the VIN it will come up.

Getting one from the junkyard would obviously be a different story.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, don't the Japanese use kilometers instead of miles? Have fun with that one!

 

Chances are it's dual mode and can read both MI and KM. A few Evo 7 clusters were sold here that could do both.

 

this would be a great mod for the evo! some one could make alot of money off this ! hint hint , dam it offer one i want it!

 

They are in Km. However, MPH is in the inner circumference, just like where we have Km. on USDM vehicles.



BTW...MrBubbler they are available through several venders Z1Performance and Vivid Racing that I know of.
