Ultimate JDM Metallic Jade Green IX MR build
After countless tire kickers trying to sell my ix MR I decided to part it out and take care of some debt. After I srtipped down the car I ran into the same damn situation... After spending countless dollars into the car I had nothing but a pile of parts and a car note every month to remind me.
I was on my last string just as I built the engine full tilt the coil packs and the HKS DLI went to ****, I had just about wanted to make funeral arrangements for
it and just call it a day.
Yes, I know almost all of you here will call out sayin WTF are you stupid?, yup just about. For those that know the car it was loved and hated none the less I owned this thing for 4 freakin years. That's twice as long as any car or girl for that matter.
Being an owner of a resto shop in CT I know the ins and outs of every aspect on a vehicle, so keep in mind I'm doing everything MYSELF! No one elses time or money are going into this. With every intention to make a serious show/go machine, keeping it clean but different... Including the color!
Let's start with the before pics "Evalyn at her finest"

Stripped down, the body was clean so little to any sealer was needed. And no bondo! At this point even with the car in the booth I had debated on three colors.... Ferrari red, a orange to yellow flip paint (too flashy) and a green. Not sure what green but it has to be custom. I had a love for a 71 vette steel cities gray with a light green tint.
With the vibrant Ferrari red at the top
of my list.... I was still suffering from indecision to the point i was having a freakin anexiety attack sayin to myself omg WTF did I do!.
After mixing and testing colors untill 9:30 at night I decided to pull the trigger on a custom blend. I named that **** JDM Jade Metallic green!! Somethin about it just makes sense.
In the booth, panic'n

Thanks!!! I like to keep it different, I'm sure it's been done
countless times before.... This time I think I've gone overboard....
As I was layin on the freshly mixed paint I was still on the fence about the color, and after you throw a few coats of clear on a base things have the tendency to change like a ****. With that thought in my mind this could go real good or turn real ugly.... After my 3rd base coat it was time for the clear, I used a new line of PPG it like a premium line (I'm a German paint user spies hecker is always my favorite) but I wanted to try out the latest and greatest.....
Four coats of clear deep and I found myself all fuc'd up with this new color, it grew
on me to the point I went home and kicked the dog with joy!!
After the unmasking this is what I have, what you
guys think??
this **** dries extremely fast, very compatible with various products.... Keep in mind I sprayed 4 heavy coats of
clear.... Finished at 2AM came in a 8AM baked it for 15min at 130 degrees and it was dry enough to sand and buff!!
Sorry for the crappy Iphone picks.

Re-assembly, not before a serious wire tuck and ABS deleation, for those that know
me I have done some of the most serious
tuck jobs on Hondas, this will be something new and fun. I will make sure it sets a standard.
This is before I re masked the eng bay to assure I don't kill
the paint, plotting my next move for wire relocation.
sorry again for the crappy pics, I'll have some high quality shots up soon!
