VOLTEX rear arches?

Hi,

I'm looking for any pics how rear arches should look like BEFORE installing VOLTEX wide rear arches?

Thanks!

Anton

Thank you!

And if you're a official VOLTEX dealer and had sold / installed many kits like this one you shold know the truth With removing some iron from the rear arches do we SOFTER and WEAKER them? Should any kind of re-inforcement be applied?

Thank you!

If you're referring to the structural integrity of the rear quarter panels, you will not see any adverse effects by cutting the rear fender arches. A good recommendation would be to grind off an inch of the paint throughout the modified surface (to reduce any problems of rust down the road), then cut 1" slits into that section of the fender and roll them inward.

This is the same procedure used by CBRD SpeedFactory:

We'll try and post some shots of their install.

IMO, u dont need to cut that high. cuz then u start splitting the structure from then body. that extreme enless ur running crazy wheel tire set up. this is what i did with 275/35's with 18x9.5 wheels.

That is a perfect example of an install! Thanks for those pictures.

you need to cut higher with the double over fenders because the wheels need to be so much wider. im on 18x10.5 +15 with 45mm spacers. with the suspension completely compresses it comes within 1/8'' of touching where i stopped cutting.

But yes, you are right under the normal over fender, you dont need to cut that high up, your install looks great.

So I got some overfenders on order.... My question is how do people usually attach them? I know there is several different ways. (I see what was done on the black one) Others?
Im thinking about doing the CBRD method.
Thanks, Tim

if youre asking me then yes, i had to cut it for the double over fender since the regular over fender isn't wide enough

bolted underneath to the jdm rear, doublesided tape along the edges and through-bolted to the oem rear quarter panel

Are there bolts already attached to the fenders? (I assumed there wasn't)

we utilize nutserts so we can remove them without putting sheet metal screws in the body, it takes quite a bit more work, because we reinforce behind the flare where it is typically hollow!
