Absolutely. They are very comfortable! They are mounted with Sparco seat brackets.

My plans this winter were as follows:

  1. Rewire the headlights to have complete, factory working high/low beams
  2. Wire my fans and electric water pump to key on, instead of a switch
  3. Wire my fuel pump to a toggle switch, for high and low settings
  4. Misc. cleanup around the car, inside and out
  5. If all goes to plan, extend wires and place the entire fuseblock behind the dash
As of today, everything on the list is done! I just finished the last project, which was routing a control switch for my fuel pump, to switch from high to low mode from within the car. It used a 10k resistor to change the voltage going to the control wire on the FueLab 41402 pump, switching it from 12V for high mode to 0V for low mode.

The fuel pump flows too much fuel on high mode, for daily driving. Anything over a fuel miles would cause the fuel to heat up, create cavitation, and possibly ruin components of the fuel system. This switch can always be keep the pump on low until I do a pull. I have to make sure I remember to flick the switch, but I trust this more than a WOT switch or something along those lines.

Here is a quick pictures of the switch in my dash:

Now I just have to come up with some labels for it, I currently have written "Off - Fast" and "On - Slow".

All that is left now is to detail the car nice, and go do some rolling 2nd gear AWD burnouts

So for daily driving the fuel pump flows to much on high mode for daily driving, what kind of fuel system are you running? Just curious as my fuel setup I chose was the bucshur double pumper. Hey mark the work u put in this winter is looking very nice

Looks good. I like the wheels.

Is the other white one your daily driver?

That is correct. I run a FueLab 41402 fuel pump, which on high, flows WAY more than a dual pumper. The problem with this is that the fuel flows through the lines so much, that it heats up the fuel, until it boils. At this point, it can damage the fuel pump, causing failure. By running it on low mode, it is more like having a single Walbro or so, which is plenty to run me around town. The AFR doesn't change at all when you switch between them because it's only controlling flow, not pressure.

My system is a 4 gallon fuel cell feeding a Weldon pre-pump fuel filter, and then the FueLab 41402. After the pump, the system flows through a second Weldon fuel filter, and then feeds the magnus fuel rail all with -10 AN lines. 1600 cc Precision injectors are used with E85, and then a 1:1 base pressure of around 40 psi is used before the fuel goes back to the cell with a -6 AN line.

Thank you, the Wedsports really do look nice on this car, but they will never see the track. This car has to be on slicks to get any good times.

And yes, the '04 RS is my daily driver. Lana is the younger sister

The work you have done over the winter looks great. Looking forward to see what times you can run at the track now with this beast. Engine bay looks amazing with the stupid fuse box gone.

Wheel / Tire update:

I sold my Wedsport wheels that I had on the car, and with that money, I bought a new set of 15 x 7 Rota Slipstreams (12# each), some new 235/60/15 M&H Racemaster DOT street slicks, and a set of custom 15mm wheel spacers made to fit both the Evo's hub and the Rota's wheel bore (also lightened on the CNC). The car should hook pretty good now, be street legal in regards to "street" tires, and should be light! I believe the total weight per corner ends up being around 29 pounds, which is remarkable.

I am not sure how well these will hook compared to the Hoosier QTP, but they are a bit more narrow, which may help with my rolling resistance and get my MPH up a little bit more. The true test will come down to a bunch of runs, and see how they perform!

2 goals

1. With the "street" trim, drive to the track, run a 10.50, and drive home.

2. Chase down most-wanted's world record ET and MPH!
