wow awsome video and the paint on that M3 omg thats awsome.

questions

1. What do M3's go for these days in the US?
2. What race track is that?
3. Who is the guy in the car with you? Advanced Driving Instructor?

Great stuff so much fun, alteast your using the car for what it was built for

i haven't gotten the alignment yet, but have an appointment next Thursday...

the camber specs I plan to run are about 1.5 - 1.7 up front and .5 in the rear... with the Toe @ 0,0...

should draw some of that understeer out, and make the turn in a bit quicker....

i'd say the drop is 1.8" up front and 1" in the rear...
I just had mine aligned after 2"front/.9"back drop to those exact same specs and it worked out very well. The car is neutral but still steps out nicely on lift throttle while turning -- also digs in harder on tight turns and allows you to get harder acceleration exiting corners. Makes the tires work as well as they can. My Evo needed an alignment at stock height, I just didn't realize it.

Jet M3 your car is v sweet man! I had these alloys in silver on my Audi S3 and am now seriosuly considering them on my Evo, I wish I had some photoshop skills so I could see what they would look like before I spend some serious dollar!

yellowfever,
thanks although I can't take the credit

cider,
1. M3 coupes go for 50K usd stripped to about 58k loaded
2. Track is laguna seca in northern california with the infamous corkscrew
3. That's actually my friend driving (not me) and an instructor with him showing him the lines and critiquing his style

mud,
thanks, I would probably get LMs on the evo if I get one, go for it

sr20,
My buddy played gt3 to learn the course and it really helped him

diesel,
He does have smg, m3s are only available in manual and smg. You can either shift with the paddles or the lever if you choose. It's quite fun, but wasn't for me. You really have to experience it to appreciate it, faster than ferraris system by the way

i see the paddles now... i must have missed them in the first view...

i assume the SMG has a full auto mode though...? cause he doesn't tap those paddles once...

evomaster,
We live in socal too, him and some other guys made the drive up there and stayed the weekend.

D,
It's very hard to see shifing because the paddles move with the wheel and you only use your fingers to pull back while your hand remains motionless. If there were no music you would be able to hear shift points.

cider,
Unfortunately, 50k usd doesn't translate directly into australian currency due to tariffs and such. There are a couple of aussies on the M3 board and I remember them paying well over 80k aud.
Both of our cars are 2003s.

i'm envious, that i'm not close enough to be able to run Seca...

yeah but interms of what you payed translated into AUD not what we would pay, we would pay upwards of 110k easy, my best friends brother just bought an M3 and payed 165k for a new one convertable that is.
