painted white intercooler

I know this is a pretty ricey, but I have an intercooler that had the mishimoto logo painted upside down. Got a great deal on it but I would like to paint the whole intercooler to cover it up.
I've done my research so I don't want a lecture about painting it or not.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has painted their inyercooler white. My 8 is TB and I am sitting on white rims. I want to keep this color combo, so does anyone have any pics of this?

I think the upside down logo is less ricey than painting it white; your eliminating the purpose of the ic when you clog it with paint which is EXACTLY what ricers do, put **** that serves no purpose for them (massive metal wings, intercoolers without a turbo, ebay exhaust that makes there honda sound like a lawn mower gown nuts, cop lights ect. you get the point). If anodizing an ic has shown in some cases to slightly decrease efficiency, I dont want to know what paint will do. GLW your little experiment.

I'm not actually painting it. Sorry I'm on my phone and in class.
I was going to annodize or powdercoat if possible. At the levels I'm running it wont affect performance at all. Just want to see what it looks like. If it looks rice I'm not doing it. I'm going for a clean look

Why not paint it black?

Do not have it powder coated. Only correct way to change the color would be to anodize it, unless your getting a heat dissipation coating on it.

Yeah, I assumed powdercoating would be too harsh on the fins. I probably will paint it black but just want to see what white would look like.

Nothing to do with being harsh on the fins. Powdercoating and painting build up a decently thick barrier on the intercooler, creating a thermal barrier that reduces the intercoolers ability to shed heat as fast. When painting, you also run the risk of obstructing the airflow through the fins by clogging them with paint.

Like Carlos said, Annodizing should be your only choice.

i think it might look good. and riced out? i don't think so, if you have white wheels it will flow. just try it worse comes to worst strip it.

I think you could pull off anodized white IC as long as the end tanks arent showing too much.

i would strip the paint off and clean it and leave it, we drive 20k+ cars these are not ment to be riced. I recall a rr evo that posed with a red intercooler recently, not a good look. I like the black with white wheels, use the wheels as an accent color

Brake cleaner or brake fluid will strip that logo paint right off.
