Second fact of the matter is that you don't buy a performance car to simply reduce the performance capabilities of said car. It's utterly retarded. If you want low and slow, get a VW. They are slow from the factory so slamming it like this Evo is won't make it any slower.

for this "fad".
I posted for quality of pictures only,, its not my car nor do I care

So the Mitsubishi Evolution VIII/IX RS trim models are a fad because they don't come with a spoiler?

i dont know about you guys buy I LOVE IT!

call me a newb if you want but its sexy as hell and you guys cant deny that. yeah its probably not built for performance but you guys act like the owner of the car actually cares about it. not everyone who buys an evo is hard pressed about performance. i would rather my car look nice than be the fastest car out there.
i bought my evo to be my daily driver.
im going to go the same route with my evo and its a shame how you guys take an opportunity for a negative comment and turn it in to a flame war.

I don't particularly like anything going on with the car, but what makes me repulsed is the stretched tires.

I don't care if you autox, street race or go to the track; you are completely killing the handling of the car.

I think a lot of people nailed it in that most people that buy Evos care about performance. Most of the people here talk about tech. Lots of VW people are into the "lifestyle stuff". When you have guys that mod the cars for performance and seeing stretched tires like that, they get ticked because it destroys the handling potential the car offers.

With GTIs, Jettas, and several Hondas, the performance envelope is nonexistant, so the lifestyle crew goes there.

To me, the Evo is not a fad car. It's not a super performance car, but it is a performance car nonetheless. I think we would all react the same way to an Elise, Corvette, or CTS-V (more performance based cars) with stretched tires. At the end of the day, it's your car, and if you want to hammer a square into a circle hole, it's totally your right.

Its got a "rat rod" individuality to it (sort of).... for what its worth its not all that bad.... your kind of caught though between the hella flush movement, a "rat rod" styling and an evo thats just beat to crap... either slam that thing and tuck the tires, mess up the paint a little more, or fix it to look normal. Its kind of a half *** mash up of trends IMO... but its different

Take the negative comment with a grain of salt man... theres always someone whos going to tell you its crap... just give them the finger, blow them kiss and go about your way...
