Widebody Resurrection
Hey guys, I have started the rebuild of my first evo. It's an 03 with a lil over 100k on it. I got it a few months ago in pretty rough shape. The lady who ownded it hit a gaurd rail on a wet night and taged the driver rear quarter pretty bad and got spun around and hit the driver front also.
Few pics of how I got it.
So I got it home and original plan was to fix the damage and put it back to stock and I would finally have my evo that i've always wanted. Well shipping company took the clutch out... So I decided to pull motor to do a full tuck on the engine bay, brake lines, and custom harness while it's down... lol and one thing turned to another and all of a sudden I've got a HUGE project on my hands!!!
Few pics of what my last engine bay/ car were... 730hp del sol
So I started by pulling the damage out and cutting old quarter panel out for the brand new oem panel. I was to excited so didn't take to many pics of that process. It went very smoothly and wasn't to difficult.
pics of the Ait body kit laying over the replaced quarter, I also welded holes shut on the stock trunk.

After seeing how bad the kit fit I was pretty hesitant on continuing with it so I let it set for a month while I decided. Well I decided, and if I was gonna do it I had to do something with the fuel door because it was ugly!! So I welded it shut, ground it down, cleaned it up, and put some great stuff foam over it to fill the void then fiberglassed over that. I dont have pics of that on this comp but will put some up soon.
I cut out the wheel well about 3/4 of and inch high all the way around it so i wouldn't have to worry about whaterver tire i wanted to run. Also I ground down the body to metal where the kit was going to go so we could panel bond it on aswell.
Panel bond and sheet metal screw's were stage 1 of holding this thing on. Then i ground downt he kit and about 3 inches higher then it to get a good base for the fiberglass to stick to. Dont have any pics of it in that stage. But do have them after I sanded/ shaped it in.

Few more pics from tonight. It's shaping out great and i'm getting alot closer to the finished product. We decided to blend out the body line that ties into the bottom window molding and it looks so smooth and factory lol. I love it
