Are all 4 calipers peeling? If so, there is a very high chance that the surface of them was not prepped right. Brake paint does peel and chip eventually, sure, but you have a ix it shouldn't be peeling already, at least on all 4. If only one was peeling then its pretty likely a rock chipped it and it started pulling off but all 4 is unacceptable and should be handled by MMC.

I have a IX and all 4 of my calipers are peeling already!!
since there are layers peeling already so we sand it so the paint will be even or will it even matter since we'll be "clear" coating it??

It's a simple fix that doesn't cost much or take lots of time...
1. Unbolt the calipers from the disc (you can leave them attached to the lines or remove them completely - your call), clean any grease/grime off them and then sand them back so that all of the existing clear coat has been removed. Once done, give them a clean down with some prepsol or something similar to ensure a nice clean surface for the new paint.
2. Get hold of some high temp engine enamel/brake caliper paint in your desired colour (dunno if you guys have VHT over there but that's what I and many others have used without an issue). Get some replacement Brembo stickers as well.
3. Tape up anything that you don't want painted and proceed to paint the calipers - just follow the instructions on the can. I did a couple of light coats and then a final heavier coat and it turned out fine.
4. Once paint has cured, apply new Brembo stickers, step back and admire your work!
Unless you're having them professionally sprayed in 2k then I wouldn't worry about clearing them since it'll most probably discolour and begin to crack/flake off again further down the track. The high temp enamel has a nice gloss finish and with a new set of Brembo stickers they look great. Plenty of people have done this without any further fading issues etc...just make sure you sand back and then clean properly before applying the paint.

try going to your dealer, most mitsu dealers replace them since its a known issue, if not, gotta powder coat them. you can paint them but a powder coat is the best and longest lasting finish you can do to them.

bingo on that one !!! my 05 evo 8 brembos all started to fade, i heard mitsu had to replace them and when i took it to them they did, FREE OF CHARGE !!!! try a few dealerships before you decide to spray can or powder coat. if you cant get them done by the dealer then i would go and powder coat them a different color.
