Would you purchase a VII Kit?
Would you strongly think into/acutally buy a evo VII Exterior conversion kit, to make the VIII look like the VII.
Without moving the Support bar and replacing the headlights?
Even though I don't have an evo, if I did this would be one of the first things I'd do. Since its basically inpossible for me to ever have a VII, From Money & Country reasons. The VII is my dream car.
Anyway, would you?

Here are my thoughts.
I love the look of the EVO VII, but I also like the look for the VIII very much. Both have their distinct differences. I like the bumper on the VII more because its cleaner, flatter, and too myself it looks more race driven. The bumper is the same on both, although we dont get the JDM bumper with the line across it. I like the hood because its flat, to meet the bumper, and it has a kewl little induction insert on the driver side (or passenger side in Jap-land).
Would I ever put a VII hood and bumper on my car? No way in hell, I have the EVO VIII. Why change it all around to make a fake EVO VII?

My question here is, why? Have you ever seen the VII and VIII together in pics? The VIII has a much more rounded, aerodynamic front end than the VII. Lower Cd, less lift, etc. on the VIII front end too. The lines where the hood meet the bumper are different as well. If you want to get rid of the stupid triangle have it custom fabbed off or just get one of the bumper replacements like Gialla or C-West.

I love the look of the VIII. Im going to add a carbon fiber hood and front lip spoiler. Thats about it for looks.

I honestly like the looks of the Evo VIII better than the VII. Looks more up to date. I don't really see the sense in converting a newer model to look like an older model. Maybe a sense of nostalgia, but regardless the Evo VIII can be made to look very good with very little in the way of appearance mods.

If I had an Evo 8.. I would not change the bumper to look like the EVO 7.. Although I like the Evo7 looks .. But I would rather spend the money on a different bumper like C-west or any other manufacturer bumper.. at least it won't look stock too..
That's just my oppinion.

correct me if im wrong but i remember reading somewhere that eve 8 frontend was designed to allow more air to reach the intercooler than th evo 7. so woulndnt a evo 7 front end theoreticlly hurt performance? i dont think anyone wants to do that

I have the 7... i love the front end of the 7.. i dont like the rear end though but that goes for both 7 and 8.... the only thing i like about the 8 is the 6 speed trans... and i prefer my adjustable rear wing coz i can adjust it (and at the speeds i do... i have to) but the 8's wings look nicer with the CF look...
The xenon lights for the 8 are nice but i have Bellofs HIDs fitted on mine so.....
and last... the rims for the 7 will last much longer than the 8s.. simply becoz of design but they are of course much heavier than the Enkei's on the 8...
