Molded 6" fogs into my Evo 9 front bumper

Let me know what you guys think! I've been working on this for about 2 weeks.

It all started after competing in the 1200 mile Dustball Rally 1000. I had a Evo IX replica fiberglass bumper that the previous owner had installed. During the Dustball Rally it took a beating and by the end half of my lip was gone and the bumper itself needed some serious work. I'm a big fan of the Evo's history in the WRC and my favorite model of the Evo is the 5, with it's oversized fog lights in the bumper. I decided to attempt to do something like that with my tattered fiberglass bumper.

I ordered a set of KC Apollo 6" fog lights (I wanted PIAA's but they were outside of my price range for a project that I wasn't sure would even work). This was my first major project with fiberglass. Then I set off to home depot to find something to use as a housing for the fogs. What I found ended up being perfect!

Thanks! The Evo V has 7.5" PIAA's which I thought would be way to big at first. Now I'm not so sure. Oh well.

Thanks! Yeah it's definitely not normal. As far as I know I'm the first one to do it, at least that I've seen. I like the clean, rally look and that's what I'm going for.

Thanks! I completely deleted the lip for more ground clearance. I lowered the car with Bilstein HD/Swift Spec-r's for autox but now I'm going to start rallyx so I need all the clearance I can get!

Interesting. Nice work too!

It needs some sort of front lip on it though

I like. Also, dont listen to all the people who post after me about how you impacted intercooler efficiency. Im already annoyed before they even post.

Looks great. Nostalgic. Functional.

Thanks! I agree that a lip would look better but because I'm going to be doing my first rallycross next month I need the clearance.

Thanks! Lol! I know exactly what you are talking about! To counter their arguments before they start, I didn't encroach in the intercooler opening at all. Granted the intercooler pipe cooling holes are gone, but I don't see that as a significant performance loss.

You need a rally skidplate to complete the look

Thanks! Yeah I hate the fact that fogs weren't standard on these models/years. Especially with the Evo having some massive for lights in its history.

Should be getting a TRF one soon, hopefully before my rallycross on April 20th. Not for looks though as it can't really be seen, but for protection, especially since my car is lowered.
