28 pounds of booooooom
A mate of mine who owns a lovely Tommi Makinen Edition Evo VI pushed things a little too far ...
Engine caught fire and it was quite a drama for the poor fellow. But alas all was not lost ...
That there above is his new Cosworth block being prep'd. And here it is back to life ...
A very expensive exercise in the end. And he should of listened to the advice given not to push it too hard - no matter WHAT the internet says ...

I can't tell if this is in jest or not, but if isn't this is exactly why the below quote is so pertinent
You have no idea the fuel, the timing or anything else about his setup. 28 psi is a lot if you are running low octane fuel, stockish turbo, with a bad tune and not great parts. Heck you don't even know if its 28psi at 4000rpm or 28psi at 7000rpm. Since the original data on the engine wasn't provided you don't actually know if it is or isn't too much and yes with the wrong combination it is too much. I used to fight this in the EcuFlash forum back in the days. A guy will post up his map without talking about boost, fuel etc. and 200 "Armchair" tuners will chime in "that's too rich, lean it out. Too little timing add more"
