My Evo has a Stiffi...
Well, it actually has 3, don't act like you aren't impressed
Lately I have been wondering how well an Evo could pull off spoiler stiffeners. So before spending any real time or money into it, i chopped up some cardboard, spray-painted it, and propped them in place.
Now I realize that this is going to drive Evo purists insane. I also realize the spoiler may not need stiffening, and this may or may not have any performance gain (it may even create some performance loss)... I don't care. I just did this to see how it looks and whether or not it was worth putting in real time or money into making legit stiffi's.
So what's your thoughts? input? changes? One of my buddies thinks it would look better without the type 3 spoiler, personally I think it looks more aggressive left on and stiffi's molded around it. That being said, i'm still 50/50 on the idea. Part of me thinks it looks aggressive as f***, the other half thinks its too much.

Also, you're idea is actually pretty good. People have been able to snap that rear spoiler in half just by reaching a high enough speed with the right wind conditions, which is plain stupid considering it's oem.
There might be some track use to this after all.

I actually don't have any interior shots, mainly because its basically stock, but i'll take some to post up. I have an older engine shot, but not much has changed since then except adding SpoolinUp COP. Will take an updated picture of that too, but here's the older one:

I can wrap those pieces of cardboard in carbon fiber and it would be ready to go. It actually doesn't seem too bad, reminds me of special spoilers for the subarus in rally racing.

Nah I don't wanna wrap the cardboard in CF. I'd either use wood or fiberglass, thankfully I know people who can do either. I'll probably make it out of wood initially then use that as a mold for fiber glassing. Not sure on how to have it finished yet. My initial thought was a CF wrap, but having it painted Apex Silver may look better and add some contrast.

It may actually be beneficial. Especially for the evo 9 guys if they have the stock wing. The evo 9 stock wing is hollow where as the evo 8 wing is filled with a foam so at extremely high speeds like 130+ and/or higher speeds into a head wind the evo 9 wing tends to collapse but not the 8s. I've seen a few threads on here illustrating the broken wings and the evo8/9 wings cut in half and put side by side to see the difference.
