It's all relative. I'm a huge home theatre buff, so I can pick out good car audio. Bose = crap. Worst sound, best marketing ever. Go to any audio forum, people will laugh you out the door if you seriously ask about Bose. I heard the Harmon-Kardon system in a BMW 330i, and it was nothing great. Deffinetly lacks bass and is very harsh on the top end. Infinity systems are some of the best I've heard in cars, atleast factory.
Too bad Klipsch, Paradigm, B&W and other big name, high quality home theatre/music companies don't make car systems. $5000 worth of audio equipment from any of those companies and your home theatre/listening room will have about 10x the impact and sound quality of a cinema. But again, please don't visit a high end audio store, you might have to sell your Evo to afford the habit.
