Silver out hood vent

Silver out hood vent
I've been going back and forth on silvering out the hood vent and have decided to finally do it ala the ralliart one, sans the ralliart stencil.
I do want to avoid water spots as well since it might be a b&*^ to take off
I wanted to know how most are doing it since I only have one vent and dont want to mess it up.
I've read to use paint stripper and leave it or
paint stripper and high temp clear or
scotchbrite the old one and spray with high temp header silver etc
if you guys have pics and opinions on how which will be most Durable, that would be great
here are a couple pics i found
I dont know if the silver one was sprayed PC'd or stripped
The black one was just stripped and left alone
I found this high temp clear
