DIY Changes Ive done so far

So I bought my fourth Evo a couple weeks back. I had a couple things planed out to do ASAP.

First thing first was paint the tail lights. I wanted the Evo vii look and didnt want to spend $400 so i masked off my tail lights and sprayed them myself. Ended up costing about 20 bucks in paint/clear.

Then I lowered my car with Espelir GT springs. Cant say im too crazy about these springs. I was hoping to get a better drop but it is what it is. Will be sporting some coilovers next summer...

That was done the first weekend of owning the car.

This last weekend I decided to paint my headlights... Before I go into it i want to be on record that Ive never done anything like this before. So i read up on it and tried to find a DIY on Evo headlights but most were of completely blacked out look (i didnt want that). So my goal was to get the JDM Evo viii look. Total time invested 6 hours and it cost me about $40 in material. I took a couple pics of the stock amber piece in and no amber at all just because. The lens is off in both of the picture of the headlights with stock amber and no amber thats why it looks SO clear

I was surprised how they turned out. Next up is the nose chop. My JDM rear is on order and everything should be done by the end of Nov. I also installed a poly lip that is pretty good fitment IMO.

Paint used for the tail lights was Testors Candy Red. For the headlights I used Satin Black and Testors Clear Orange for the Amber part.

light look great man! I wish I could do my tail lights. I just don't think that I personally have the patients to mask the turn signal area.

I've been wanting to do my old OEM tails like this. Kinda wanna see what they'd look like on my Lightning Yellow vs the MR ones.

Headlights look good. I wish I could get the chrome blinker bowls. Previous owner painted them(what an idiot!). I like the lights though. I put a amber overlay on mine. Haha.

Good work, but I don't get all the fuss over lights. Hope they don't leak.

If they were IX headlights and tails I would have left them alone but on EB the chrome just looks awful imo
