the actual purpose for those kind of things is to ram air up to ur radiator/intercooler...if u could push the bottom out some so it directed air up there it would serve some purpose

actually, it's usually to prevent too much air from going underneath the car, most likely to reduce lift. And take the corvette example. It (and quite a few other american cars) has its plastic lip way under the front. If you look at the pic which was taken at a low angle, you can probably barely see it, if at all, standing near the car and looking down. He didnt do it for looks. At least I hope not?

only problem is, there's no way to measure any gain unless you have a wind tunnel. Just bring it here to Chicago and park it between a couple buildings in spring. we'll blow some smoke at it and see where it goes...

for creativity, but I don't see that being very functional. Did you support it using zipties?

personally I think it looks good. nice and clean. not sure about the functionality but it does look good. you should do a front on shot from a bit aways.

how did you mount it to the bumper?

I did this for both functionality and looks. The front end needed something .... and for functionality, if you decrease the space for air to pass under the car, the air will have to travel faster, thus creating a low pressure zone. This piece of vinyl although flexible is pretty stiff too. I attached it to the plastic undertray with stainless fasteners into nutplates.
