Question Evo 8 Harness bar recommendations?

Going to install some 5pt harnesses and wondering what harness bar is the most recommended out there. I want to be sure and not have to get something else.

Thanks!

The Buschur one is nice if you want an easy quick release system but if you dont need that the sparco one is great too.

Keep in mind that the harness bar will keep your seats from folding back in the event of a rollover.

You really want to run a rollbar with your harness bar...

Anyway, I have the sparco harness bar. It's a nice, high quality piece with detailed instructions.

I hear you on that... I"m pretty tempted to get the auto power roll cage I've been going back and forth. Might do the harness bar for now and maybe in the future swap it out. Not like I use my back seats anyway would give me more of an excuse to not have anyone ever ride in the back.

I have the buschur one. I bought mine used. I like it for the quick release pin feature. Theres been a few times where I've needed the bar out the way for passengers or for cargo.

Sidenote: Anyone else with the buschur piece have some movement play left and right?

I don't have one but I would recommend the buschur one. If it's a street car then it's a no brainer. From what I have read you don't want to run one of these on the street because you will be screwed in the event of a roll over. The stock non fixed back seats are designed to fold back so your head won't get smashed when the roof does. With the buschur one you can remove it once you leave the track. Same goes for roll cages/bars when without wearing a helmet.

^^^ so what if u roll over at the track with the bushur one, wouldn't u still be screwed lol... Ur just as likely to rollover at the track as much as the street if not more. So if ur main concern is safely during a rollover get a cage lol

Yes if you roll over on the track you might be screwed. The reason to get the harness bar is so you can use your harness and reduce movement in your seat. You don't get a harness bar for safety, you get a roll cage. When you get a cage it introduces other safety concerns that come from hitting the bars in a crash. When autoxing the chance is lower for a roll over and some people weigh an acceptable risk for using a harness bar so they can reduce movement. It's really a personal choice and should be decided on how you use your car. I personally won't use one from all the horror stories I have read/heard. But if I were to get one for let's say just autoxing then it would definitely be the buschur one so I can remove it once I go back to the street. All that I have said come from no personal experience with them and is what I have read/ heard, so take it how you want to.
