This is a common problems from the conversion. Its likely OP is missing hardware on the Evo IX bumper. Half of the rivets, metal brackets, mesh, misc. cannot used from Evo 8 bumper to a Evo 9 bumper.

There is gap in my Evo IX bumper, I plan to put a double side tape on a piece of foam between the gap within the bumper. I dont have that problem in the grill.

Makes sense. I was assuming they had all the brackets and so on...

I have a set of Evolution 9 bumper retainers. I pulled them off because I thought I would want a 9 bumper again, but I decided to hunt for an 8 bumper.

Re-install the front crash beam as it adds support.

+1 the crash beam should help with the gaps but pushing the bumper slighty forward and up

Anybody knows if the evo 8 and evo 9 crash beams are different from eachother?

And if so, will i need to the 9 beam since i have the 9 bumper?

i have the same issue, you are missing a foam on the rebar that gives the bumper a little lift that should close those gaps. put the rebar back on and put something in between the rebar and the bumper

The foam actually makes a difference? I have issues with bumper sag also underneath the headlight

I have the same problem. I installed my 9 bumper on my Evo 8 and the bumper sags under the headlights.

Just installed the reinforcement bar and i cant seem to get the bumper back on at all. I've taken the bumper off and on countless times, but this is the first time instaling with the crash beam on. I'll try taking my time putting the bumper on again when im not in the middle of something and rushing.

Any insight on why it was easier to put on without the crash beam than without? Is it that much of a tedious install with the bar on.

I'll take pictures of different angles when i get the chance if that helps.
