There are many different theories to washing, look on forums like http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ it has lots of how-to's on it. I personally use menzerna polish on mine and Zymol wax. There is a difference between swirls and spider webbing, swirls are also called holograms because of there appearance. Spider webbing looks like exactly like what it sounds like, this is what you mainly get from washing. Swirls come from improper buffing. After cruising the forums on autogeek if you still have questions just pm me and I can try to walk you through some of the steps to help correct the paint. I was an auto detailer for 17 years.

I owned a new black evo 9 in the past was hell to keep the paint looking good. The only color evo/car I ever regreted owning. All you can really do is detail the car often.
