Cutting JDM Rear for Diffuser

So a little while ago I ended up burning my jdm rear, at Laguna Seca, when my ic pipe popped off coming out of turn 2. So now that its burnt, and I don't feel bad cutting it up, does anybody have any ideas on how I should cut the bumper and build the diffuser?

Picture of bumper, you guys probably seen this shared somewhere before

I'm currently planning on cutting along that seam along the lower part of the bumper and the "diffuser" in order to help evacuate as much air out of the wheel wells and prevent the bumper acting like a "parachute". Basically trying to do something along the lines of the Tilton Interiors evo and the Pulse Racing evo.

I felt the same way at first...but then i cracked the bumper when i hit a cone and then, a year later, my car set it on fire so now i'm not scared of messing up the bumper because i can't really make it any worse

I was thinking the same thing, what was the intention of having it angled like that?

Some called it the Laguna Seca pipe
There is a fixed sound station at one of the turn and the function of the angled pipe is to divert the concentration of noise away from the db measuring microphone

I'm still confused how your IC pipe caused the rear bumper to get burnt...

That makes sense, but why didn't you angle it at the ground?

That bumper is still very fixable by the way. A good body shop can get that looking mint again.

If it's a MAF car, air is already metered, pipe pops off too much fuel relative to air...whole bunch of unburnt fuel hits hot exhaust == huge fireball.

While this part/installation is not for an Evo, many of the ideas on the fab/mod of the rear bumper cover would still apply:

Very cool. Maybe Keith could whip something up for us Evo guys if there was enough interest?
