Will you have a separate sub and amp ???
If so then you will probably set your 300/4 amp with a high pass filter, so that it cuts
off everything below 100hz, or there abouts.
In that case, 14 or even 16 guage wire will be plenty for the regular speakers.
It's the low frequencies that need the power, and by extension, the large guage.
If no separate sub, then you should use at least 12ga. to carry the power for the low freqs.

I was referring to the front and rear crossover settings on your amp.
You will want to set them to HP (high pass) and set the freq to something around 80-100hz.
Then your "smaller" regular speakers don't have to work hard to reproduce the low sounds.
You will be sending them to your sub.
