It's easy to take off. I took it off because of all the negative attention I was getting. BUt I still have the holes in the trunk, I put plugs in them for the time being. I also had the tails painted. Evodave did them.

CoronaLancer - How much for the wing? Not sure how much to offer.

I like the wing on the new MR - is that available now? It'd be nice if you could just take off the surfboard looking wing and bolt the new wing on. Anybody know of one that is much less obnoxious and will fit perfectly into the factory holes?

I think the evo needs a spoiler to compliment its lines, but I hate the stock one. Heres the one I want. You can buy it from vividracing

@$500 shipped, its a bit pricey for me. But this is the best one ive seen so far.

I used the plastic screws like the ones used to hold the splash gaurd under the front. It looks a bit unclean but it helps keep the crap out untill I get either the smaller wing or another trunk lid. The flat black bigger plug is a sticker plug put their by the mnufacturer. Antenna for the OZ I think.

Any idea how much a new rear trunk costs? I can't deal w/ the wing or the plugs (no offense)

I don't blame ya. I am currently looking for a trunk lid. Any Lancer guys out there that live in the Columbus Ohio area want to trade trunk lids?

I think the CF wing makes the car. I guess I've gotten so used to seeing the car with it that it seems like it just belongs....when I'm on the road and I see a Lancer with an Evo wing, I chase it down (thinking from the back it might be another fellow Evo) just to be disappointed.

The two negatives are the unwanted attention and problems seeing out the rear view mirror! It's a pretty good obstruction, I have to move up and down to get a good view of who/what's behind me.

However I do like Lee_K's, stvbreal's wingless version, it looks sharp.
Not a big fan of the low-profile wing however, it looks too small for the car.

$375 for a Lancer trunk from the dealer, unpainted. Figure over $500 when all is said and done.

Wing for sure, it defines the car. I could care less if people think it looks ricey. I didnt buy this car to worry about what people think about me. The only problem is checking out ladies driving behind me, it tends to cover up the face perfectly. I guess thats good for the brown-baggers that ya dont take home to mama!

It's bolted on with two nuts on either side accessable through the bottom of the trunk lid. Some very heavy duty two-sided tape also holds the wing pylons down. It takes a bit of work to get the CF wing off, but it isn't particularly difficult. Just go slow and don't force anything.

It leaves a total of three holes on each side of the trunk to either plug or fill. My dealer's body shop welded the holes shut, filled them with bondo, sanded them down, and repainted just the trunk, all for $300. When I sell the Evo, I'll be able to remount the wing by drilling out the welds.

There is also one snap on each side. You gotta pull kind off hard to get it off the trunk lid. Almost feels like you are gonna break something, sounds like it too.

I think the EVO looks amazing with the large CF wing, with the low-prof wing, the Vivid wing, and wingless. It looks more aggressive with the large wing, but any way you have it, it looks amazing.
