modified stock evo8 bumper fascia

i dont know if anyone feels the same way but. i feel that the thing in the middle has been seen on a stock front bumper so much that its beginning to grow on me. its hard to imagine an evo8 without it.

You should see the custom FMIC on the Vishnu Stage 2 car, looks exactly like the stock one. Very stealth. Er, well, relatively stealth . . .

I'm all about the sleeper thing. I actually took the spoiler off for a while too, but the car behaved differently (as I expected) so on it goes despite my sense of decency. Plus, I realize the spoiler is an evo trademark like the hood, so I can't deny the car its heritage despite my personal style preferences.
I only got charged $150 for painting the headlight and taillight housings (after I disassembled them), removing the triangle and grafting on a panel, and painting the bumper fascia (again, after I removed it). It was a sweetheart deal from a buddy though so I'd realistically put the estimate at somewhere near $500 based on the number of hours he says he worked on it.
According to him, it wasn't that bad to do the work. He just cut out the section and replaced it with a flat peice from some honda bumper he had laying around and then used some sort of special adhesive (like bondo, but for bumpers and stuff that flexes). Lots of sanding, filling, sanding, etc... and wham, I got what I asked for, a completely debadged front end. Previously, I had been driving around with the chrome plastic emblem removed and though it was much less noticeable, I could still see the diamond star insignia and it was irritating me.
Thanks for the compliments guys, here's some pictures of the rear end for your amusement. I went with a gloss black on the housings to match the exterior paint and also used the model tint spray stuff to cover the reverse light lens cover and red brake light covers. Looks very sedated.

Looks sweet, grind down the ridge on the center of the hood and I think it'll be a little less shocking. If you added a front splitter and canards your front end would own all. Well done.
