cool gauge pods

OK, I went to Hot Import Nights in Atlanta Saturday night and they had an EVO with gauges mounted above the glove compartment. The pods were molded to the dash and looked tight!

Does anyone know who this guy is or where he got them? Did anyone else go to HIN on Saturday and see them?

Attached is a pic...

I was at the show too. The guy said that his local shop made that pod.

That mounting location is fine as long as your not moving but very unsafe to look at while driving, IMO.

It looks like it would interfere with the passenger side airbag. Not that it could block the airbag, but the airbag could knock off those gauge rings and plant them in your chest?

Yes that is in my car. Here is info on the shop that did it for me http://www.generationimport.com/CS_Ad.htm

It does not interfere with the air bag what so ever... It really isnt bad for line of sight either. I thought it would be a problem, but it really isnt bad at all.

I guess noone noticed that the all of the trim was custom painted BMW m3 gunmetal, and my AFC was custom fiberglassed into the pocket under the radio. We even painted the AFC BMW M3 gunmetal to match the resto of the trim pieces.

But hey guys dont copy what I did, try to come up with something different and cooler.

Tom

thanks

Hay, I did notice all that and your ride looks great...I also liked the AFC, but not gonna put one in. I was thinking about drilling into the dash just below where you have your gauges and making some angle rings and mounting my SMK there, but your setup is way nicer...it flows a lot better. Thanks for the info...
