gialla makes one of the lighest CF hood for our cars (dont have the exact number)
but in general, since our stock hood is aluminum already, most CF hood would not provide tremedous weight lost...
CF trunks are a different story, but then again on the evo we really should try to make the front end lighter for handling purposes

there's hoods that weigh five pounds... no structural support, i think that's a pretty good weight savings... anyway... here's more

Monster Sport Air Outlet Carbon Hood: 13.22 pounds

monster sport cf trunk: 13.22

difference is wet resin based carbon fiber constuction vs. oven backed vaccumed dry carbon based carbon fiber constuction

wet is heavier due to the added resin and weights for the material

Exactly. Hoods made from prepreg c/f vacuum bagged and autoclaved will be MUCH lighter and MUCH stronger than wet layup type...that is also why the "dry" carbon parts are so expensive...a good autoclave costs over $250k larger ones exceeding $1mill. The process is also much more involved. I guess you have to ask yourself what the purpose of the cf part will REALLY be. If you really want the look, get the wet layup style (VIS, etc ~$500-$800) if you really need strength and low weight (professional race apps) go with AAR's Dry Carbon hood and trunklid. (~$3k for the pair)

I can't speak 100% to this, but what I've heard from a few resellers and vendors is that the CF trunk should not have a spoiler installed. I see you have the RS, but should you attempt to add a spoiler it wouldn't be recommended.

There is no way the Gialla hood weighs 15.5 lbs. It feels considerably lighter than stock- the carbon is VERY thin.

you can install a spoiler, but youd have to reinforce it where you mount it. its also reccomended that you go with a carbon fiber spoiler, or another extremely light weight one.
