235/40/18 on a 18*9 +29 rim

I've ordered my new rims (Volk GT-U Gold) last week, but the tires i wanted for them are very expensive here in Belgium.

I wanted to fit 255/35/18 on them, but that comes at 350$/tire.

So i want to try if i can fit 235/40/18 on those rims. Does anyone has this setup, and if you do can you please post some pictures of the tire on the rim.

And what is the best tire i can get to fit on my new rims?

Thanks !

i'm running 18x9 wheels with 235/40r18 tires and it's alittle stretched but dosent look bad. although a 265/35r18 would be the way to do it. a 235 tire is perfectly fine.

mine are a +18 but you get the idea on the fitment.

235 looks fine on a 9" tire though
I'll go for the cheaper 235 then

*edit*

Question : What is the size of the lug nuts used on a IX ?
I want to buy anti-theft lugt nuts.

a 18x9 +29 will not stick out of the fender as much. these pics are of a +18. a 18x9+29 will be flush with the fender

the 235/40r18 is a great size for the evo. from 8.5" to 9.0" you really can't go wrong for the price!

as far as lugs you are looking for 12x1.5

get the mcgard spline driven lugs from Subydude.com

I used them on my STi and I currently have them on my evo and I love them

they also offer special locking lugs as well

The store where i've ordered my Rays Nuts recommended me 1.25mm

I hope those are the right ones because they will arrive tommorow with DHL...
