Well, this setup wouldn't be Stock-class legal out of the box. The custom upper mounts and the coilover conversion kinda preclude that.
But all is not lost.
If we assume that you'll be running stock springs and the stock upper mounts, we can still do the conversion to take-aparts and effectively get you the Nextel Cup shocks; just in a Stock-legal mounting system.
That, incidently, drops the price WAY down, as all we are doing is the take-apart conversion and then any subsequent revalving. Supply your own MR shocks, and it starts to approach something like "cheap".
We do this stuff all the time. We've done (or are doing) conversions for Mustangs, Supras, and Chrysler Crossfires, and there's one EVO we'll be converting for sure later this season.
There is, however, one little wrinkle.
In order to stay Stock legal, we have to use the Stock mount point on the front shocks. That means we MUST use the MR front shocks (with the smaller hole in the mount) which has the too-small shaft to do the Shcraeder valve coaxial like we do with the Mustang stuff.
That means we have to do the valve on the side of the strut cartridge, buried in the bumpstop. The bumpstop is big enough and thick enough that it *should* prevent the top of the foot from shearing the valve off if the car ever bottoms out... but the first set is going to have to be considered somewhat "experiemental".
As soon as we are allowed by the rules to do a caster/camber plate and proper coilovers, the restriction forcing us to use the stock strut goes away, and we can do it the easy & safe way with a Mustang strut cart. The price also goes up, but most of that is in the mounts and the coilover hardware.

well, i have an 03 EVO with the MR suspension setup.. just had it done last weekend and it ride is totally noticable .. but then again, my original set up was shoot anyways.. but the MR kit bolts right on and nothing to it.. no extra part needed or mod that had to be done. the ride is soft and comfortable and when it gets down into turns... it holds great ! so, MR suspension on NYC roads ... big thumbs up ! glad i did it !

Can anyone verify if there are any different parts on the MR suspension besides the springs and struts? Meaning are the sway bars the same, or is anything else different? I plan to do the swap next weekend.

so only the damping is adjustable?

good info above guys...my MR suspension purchase is coming to a close soon....will be picking them up and puttin them in next Saturday...can't wait....JDM MR set with only a little over 200 clicks on them....
