how wide can you go with 18inch rims w/o rubbing??

I'm running 240/40/18 on a 18/8.5/30 it clears in the back but it rubs on the front inner liner
when wheel is turn all the way. I'm running Tanabe which is the same drop as the Hothckis springs.

i read somewhere that the widest you can go would be a 10" rim w/a 15 offset. that's alot of traction to turn & the car might look like a go cart. i think the widest i would go would be 9" w/25 or 30 offest+ wider front fenders.
