yokohama avs es 100 are a great tire. I have them, and tire rack did reviews against many other tires, kumho, bf goodrich etc and these came out on top in every category. much better treadwear rating than the advans and still very good gripping tire on dry pavement, even better on wet road, I'm sticking with these for my evo only 118 each on tire rack too opposed to 218 for oem. as for those two tires that u had i'd go with the toyo's, but the avs es 100 will out perform both of those tires by a longshot

i have the nitto 555's as my allseason tires. they are alright. i do particularly like them in the rain and they actually help me keep control in the snow. i am a little let down on them as far as holding heat/grip in the dry, but that's alright. i'm in jersey, too, so i'm dealing with whatever weather you're dealing with. i don't know how they do when it's warm out, but for now, they're doing their jobs as my winter tires. only a couple more months till i slap the advans back on anyways.

If your looking for alot of grip they both suck. But as a regular everyday tire their both ok.
I got 4 225/40/18 nitto 555 with about 3000 miles on them. If your interested let me know.

i say go with the NT555's. i had them on the last 3 cars i drove regularly (92 Eclipse, 98 Talon, & 04 Jag). they work every well if you drive normally. if you get on it, they will wear more rapidly then the 300 rating. driving fast they are more like a 200 rating tire. a little "glassy feeling" under high speed braking though (over 125 mph) but other than that it's a solid tire that doesn't cost too much. if Renntech uses them on 600+hp modded Benzes, that must be a testament to Nitto's engineering...

again..toyo's over the nittos..yoko avs es 100's over the toyo's..the ts-1's cost like 150 a piece or something dont they? the yoko's are cheaper and outperform them easily..i've had experiences with both of those tires the the yoko's are def better but between nittos and toyos the toyo's I think would be better..never had nittos. only lookin at reviews and numbers

None of the tires mentioned are good for overall grip. The Proxes 4 is an all season tire. The 555 isn't, and isn't much better anyway. The Advans, aside from BFG G-Force KDs are the best tire for the Evo.

The 555's are drag radials so I wouldn't use them all season.
