5Zigen 17X8 FN01R-C fitment?

Yes, I've searched and the general consensus is that there is no offset in the 17X8 wheel that fits. Even 5Zigen's website states no Evo fitment in 17X8: http://www.5zigenusa.com/w_fn01rc.html

So, Discount Tire managed to scratch 3 of my stock wheels and they have offered to replace them with the 5Zigen FN01R-C in 17X8. Discount Tire assured me that they will clear the Brembos without spacers, but all other evidence points to the exact opposite. None of the search results brought back recent threads so is it possible that 5Zigen now make a 17X8 wheel in the correct offset and have yet to update their site? Or - and this is the likely solution - is Discount Tire wrong?

That's all good and well, but it's going to take 5 days for them to get the rims, then I have to drive over there and let a bunch of 18 year old kids manhandle my car again only to discover they don't fit, and then wait another week or two while they source rims that do fit. It's a lot easier if I can just find out whether they fit or not...

i just ordered the same rim in a 17X9, and i was told it will fit. he said that i am definately not the first guy to order them with an evo, and i am guaranteed a full refund if they do rub. they should be here next week (actually were supposed to be here this week, but alas a shipping problem) so i will keep you posted.

Really? Cool. I believe that's what they ordered for me. I e-mailed 5Zigen USA about it too but they didn't reply . As for purchasing the wheels: Discount Tire are footing the bill and will be going through their own distributor. Thanks for the offer though; I've always had good dealings with Z1 .

UFO, what color wheels are you getting? I'm thinking about getting FN01R-C's for my car but I'm still debating between those and the Gram Lights 57s. Take some pics when you get 'em on?

I'm supposed to be getting the hyper black but we'll have to wait and see what I actually end up with . It was a toss up between those and the matt black as I have this whole white/black theme going on right now. I'll post some pics when they arrive, which will hopefully be early next week.

Have you had any problems with this size rubbing against the brembos under heavy cornering. Do they fit without spacers or rings? You say they stick out further than stock because of the offset, how do you mean. I'm thinking of buying this size.
