I put in Ferodo 2500's a few weeks ago and love them. A little squeally but they bite better than the stock pads and don't fade at all...

I have Project Mu....they are good for street, but suck for track application. Low Dust = High heat.....my front rotors are all screwed up and feel warped when they get hot now....will be replacing rotors and pads soon.

the Ferodo 3000's can make the most awful squeeling noise on the street, EVERYONE stares at you its awesome. That being said they are great on the track. If you like to use your brakes hard at the tracks the 2500s will give way towards the end of the day.

I have Hawk HP Plus on my non Evo vehicle (a Prelude) and they stop well, but boy there is a lot of dust lol.

Are the Ferado's worse in the brake dust department than the stock pads? Couple hours of driving after my wheels are spotless it looks like I have gunmetal wheels.

HAWK BLUE. IMO, by far the best race pad that is still somewhat streetable. I called hawk this morning and they are finally available. I'm sick of the transfer problems I've been having with the Ferodo 2500's and the 3xxx Ferodos are just outragous.

Blues are one of the best TRACK pads, but I would never recommend them for the street. When the Hawk reps and tech guys are visiting The Rack they freak when they hear of blues on the street. Don't have near the initial cold bite to be used safely on the street. Horrible on rotors at cold operating temps as well.

I'm using Porterfield R4 pads front and rear for track and street duty. They work great on the track, are fine on the street, don't seem to be wearing out quickly, but they are expensive ($300 for front and rear from www.livermoreperformance.com) and they are so so noisy!!

They definatley have some drawbacks on the street, I definately wouldn't recommend them for daily driving. I use them because I can get the car to the track and home without eating a set of rotors in 50 miles like the blacks or HT-10 do.

it depends on the TIRES!

I've had a very good experience with the DS2500s for street and some track but I'm easy on the brakes at the track and haven't run the car with R-compounds yet. Using R-compounds will get the brakes hotter and would probably necessitate a different compound. I've run 7 track days and still have a decent amount of material remaining.

I had Porterfield R4S on my '89 BMW with RA1s and they worked well but scored the rotors (my fault) after 5 track days. Also don't heat up as quickly as the Ferodos. I bought R4S for my WRX too and didn't like them at all. Go figure.

I was strongly advised not to get the R4S, but heard that the R4 would be ok. So far I'm pleased with them.

I switched to Hawk HPS pads after the stock one wore out. These pads are billed as low dust and let me tell you, might as well be billed as 0 dust. The Hawks don't have the bite that the stock pads have but they're plenty good for street. I've been really happy and definitely recommend them.

I have been using Ferodo 2500's..hate 'em too squeally (not very loud, but annoyingly quiet) I won't buy them again!!

So far, stock is perfect no noise just too dam expensive. Same amount of brake dust between Ferodo & stock.

Interest in the HAWK HPS pads...want to hear from other EVO owners using them.
