Carbotech Bobcat I have on the front doesn't make any noise on the NEW ROTORS.

They were treated with some of that spray red glue stuff that I bought at autozone.

I'm running them without shims and it seems to work great.

Only bad thing about Bobcats are that they fade on you fairely quickly on hard driving.

But initial braking is amazing.

Hawk HP+ are fairely loud, fairely dusty and it's pretty harsh on your rotors. I wont buy those anymore.

Project Mu B-force I had, they squeek a bit but even with a lot of track time, it will not fade on me, but initial bite for the street was fairely dull.

Ferrodo's are Evo owners choice since the Evo came out in US. They squeek a bit, but usually they work very well. I don't know how it performs at the track.

What I want to know is how loud are the Porterfield RS4?
Also, how good are they at the track? You guys are saying it'll wear out fast? Does it fade fast as well? 20 minutes not bad, if it recovers quickly.

I track a lot and I need to have something that wont fade on me.

I have heard from another guy who tracked his Evo on porterfield R4S pads that they fade a lot. He was on a track that is pretty hard on brakes when this happened.

I have driven my car at this same track on the Porterfield R4 pads and they did not fade at all.

However. The R4 pads are REALLY noisy when you first put them on. Although mine have become much quieter over the winter (could be the cold weather). I am on my second set of front pads and my first set of rears. I got about 25,000 miles on a set of fronts including 4 lapping days and probably 10 autocrosses. Also my rotors are pretty much shot now at 71,000 miles. i'm not sure if this is premature given the large number of autocrosses on the car and the few lapping days. But it wouldn't surprise me if the pads have eaten them up a bit.

Because you warped them or because you wore them out? Mine have never really warped. But right now they are pretty thin.

Also most of my 71,000 miles has been freeway driving.. Probably 80-85% freeway and I rarely touch the brakes on the freeway except when I am exiting.

EBC Ceramic worked really good for me...cheap and very effective. Lasted 30,000km with about 10 autoX events.
