Best Brake Pads (Street/Some Race)

What are your recomendations for pads? I have been doing a lot of research and I am confused with all the pads out there.

I chose Ferodo not because they are necessarily better than Endless or Hawk, but they are certainly wonderful and a lot cheaper than Endless. You can get the DS2500/DS2500 F/R for Street/Limited track, or DS3000,DS255 F/R for track. I have heard of people running DS3000 on the street without much issue as well.

Use Hawk on every car I own and couldn't be happier. Firm feel, very little fade, and low on dust.

Has anyone who is recommending these pad's every tried Pagid pads. A couple of track junkies at work are STRONGLY recommending that I go with Pagid yellows, however they have admittedly little or no experience with the pads listed here. But I never see any mention of them on these forums (possibly because no 'evo vendors' seem to sell them).

So has anyone had any experience with either a Pagid Yellow or Pagid Orange pad AND something like the Ferrodo's, endless, or Project Mu's that I see on here all the time and can give some kind of comparison between the two.

I think that researching brake pads is hardest thing to do on these forums.

Researching Exhausts is the hardest thing to do, everyone likes whichever one they have...

I've used Hawk HPS (street) and Hawk HP+ (street/track). HPS is a great street pad, the HP+ is a good hardcore street/light track pad.

I used HP+ at LimeRock in CT with no fading problems at all, and they are good enough to get you home after a track day.

Hawks =

I have always been very happy with the Porterfield R4S. No experience with them on the EVO yet, but should be very similar to the HP+ as described above.

I believe Pagids are very popular with the BMW/Euro crowd.

Yup that's where these guys have come from, one an E46 M3/Audi S4 and the other a 911. Now driving an Evo MR and an STi.

Porterfield was another name mentioned, but I was told to stay away from anything with an S in the name... Apparently they burn up really fast... is that true??
