Tom-
I installed a set of KW Variant 3's on my EVO a week ago and tested them in an autocross yesterday. Even on the default settings that were recommended, they were excellent. The ESP class was sparse but I was able to win over an STI that dominated all classes a week ago in a high-speed autocross event. I still need a limited slip to control front inside wheel spin, but out-of-the-box handling was really great.

KW is quality hardware and the stainless steel strut bodies will be nice for my daily driving use. I definitely recommend the KW Variant 3's.

The KW brand is outstanding.

Alot of my bimmer friends use these.

A bit pricey, but a helluva system.

Sorry for the delay guys. I actually got mine in Germany. I'm tracking down a U.S. source and will let you know.

The ride for daily driving feels no worse than the stock Evo to me.

I've been checking all week and just wanted to get back with the official word. I've been talking with Tom at KW North America and the Variant 3 coilover suspension (w/ separate compression/rebound adjustments) for the EVO 8 is finished and is in final test. It will be available for sale in the U.S. in approximately one month. He will find out pricing this weekend. Tom said that anyone who is interested can give him a call at 888-530-1433, ext 101. He's on the west coast.

Cheers,
Mark

Of course the Ralliart Evos are using the exotic full race $6-7k units with external reservoirs.

That's going to make my decision even harder.

I was torn between the Tanabe's or the Teins. Now that KW is coming with a system - I might have to wait now...

but how will the KW's perform against a professionally tuned JIC setup by John M.? The quality will be 100% better than the JICs but what about the setup which is a key on our cars unlike cars that come stock with crappy suspension and respond well to untuned suspension.

That's what's kept me from spending money on coilover yet as I would like a better quality like K&W, but would want a pro like John M. to set it up.

John Mueller, Robi...any comments?
