e-brake light on....

I've been experiencing a weird thing on my car for about a week now. It seems when I accelerate and get up to about 80 or so my e-brake light comes on. The first time it happened it freaked me out. I took it to the dealer and was told my pads in the rear are just about gone. I figured my brake pads were low, but why would the rears go before the fronts?

I'm in the process of looking for some new pads. I pretty much drive my car on the street and that is pretty much it. The dealer wants 250 buck for the OEM pads......I'll pass on that one. You guys have any suggestions on a good pad for a good price where I won't be sacrificing the stock stopping power?

/\ No dont do that

think of it this way the brakes are a closed system when the piston on the back of the pads has to push further in due to the pads being almost gone the fluid in the resivoir goes down.... so most likly u will need new pads. and if you go and just fill the resivoir and dont do the pads then u continue to drive on them and they ware all the way and u go metel on metel then u detroy the rotors and the pads so instead of spending 200$.. you spend about a grand.

Your choice at the end of the day you will have pads that are much better then stock and most likly dust less so its kinda a win win unless u cant do the 200$
