Tire Wear?
Anybody hear numbers as far as tire wear for the Neovas? How do they compare to
the AO46s in terms of life.
I looked on Tire Rack and they don't have those numbers yet.

I can say that after driving Number 8's car and seeing how well it performed at the autocross, my next set of tires will be Neovas. The ride is noticably more forgiving and the performance is great.

Any R-compond tire will require *heat* to get grip. Not the kind of grip that an autocross generates - a couple of laps at 7/10's on the track at least.
That said, the RA-1's get great grip on the street for an R tire. They also get stickier the longer they run. "Their fastest lap is the one before they cord" is the consensus. They are the ultimate arrive-and-drive tire for the track, rain or shine,. If you don't want to lug tires to the track and be prepared for everything except snow (And yes it snowed at a recent DE at Mid-OH - they were making 3' snowmen in the paddock) Toyo RA-1's are foolproof.
For heavy cars like ours, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (MPSC) have just the ultimate grip. Just absolutely *glue*. But they are terrible in standing wet (when slightly worn) or when cold. If you know it's gonna be hot and dry, MPSC's are it.
All this - these are *track* tires (R-compond) that are DOT legal. There is a growing trend though, that high performance street tire (Neova's) are approaching the stickiness of the R's while still preserving cold/wet performance and street friendly.
