Autocross setup
Our local autocross clubs run a street tire class to keep some of the tire costs down for people that don't want to get a 2nd mortgage to afford race rubber. It also allows us to drive to the event without changing tires. I want to run street tire class next year locally with the BSP index. That way I can run my mods and wider tires. I also want to do a few track day events.
So, that being said, I want to find the widest wheel/tire combo I can run. Right now, I am thinking I could find a way to get a Enkei RPF1 rim in a 17X9 or 9.5 to fit and fit a 275/40/17 Falken 615 on it. I mean some people are running wider setups than that.
That being said, has anyone run this combination? This setup should be the same weight or a little less than stock. (Stock wheel is around 20lbs + 25lbs for the A046)(17X9 RPF1 16lbs + 28lbs Falken 275/45/17). What offset wheels would I need?
I am okay with rolling the fenders.
There is some tire comparison information in the attached picture. The 275 is taller, but only by a little. I'm okay with loosing a little gearing advantage.

No, numerous posts on this forum show it at around 20lbs on the 2003. Any variation in weight of +/- .5lbs that people have reported are from scale accuracy. Do a search, and you'll see it's 20lbs, not 17lbs.
