What is the widest tread width ???/40/17 able to fit on an evo without hitting the strut tower? Also I am putting them on FNO1R-C 17 x 9.

You'd have some issues running a 275. You can run a 255/40 without running into any problems with rubbing

I have had rubbing issues with the 255x40 on both stock 17" rims and 5Zigen wheels(17x9) with no spacers

I'm running 245/40/18 BFG's and they rub slightly. 245 or 255 on 17's would probably be OK

I'm running FNO1R-C's, 17x9, with 255/40/17 RA-1's at the track. No rubbing.

Robi rolled my fenders; with that, he says I can run 275/40/17's.

I am going to use them purlly for AutoCross and I dont want any rubbing.

Now I am thinkging of going with these choices.

Does anyone know wich is best for cool to hot wether? I am in Central New York so temp fluctuates by the minute not day.

I have 245 on right now and I am only a pointer finger width away from the strut tower. I was thinking 255 but I am scared. Did you do some kind of mod on your struts to make it so you could fit wider tires on?

A3S05. Rubbing won't be a problem, but wear and performance will. Some people are cording them in <20 runs.

Shaved? They'll be OK, but expensive and not as good as a real autocross tire.

Should be pretty good if shaved.

Kumho hasn't actually manufactured this tire in this size.

Backordered at the only known supplier.

Probably the 710s, if they actually existed, followed by the ECSTA 700s, if they were available.

I've heard of 280 (https://www.evolutionm.net/features/...vomfeatures/44)
and 275 (www.robispec.com). The right offset and/or spacers is key.

Voidhawk yes but I am looking for something that will work without modifications.

Also, I forgot to mention I will be putting some negative camber on the front and rear. What is the consensus view on how many degrees to go with?

I'd probably go with the VictoRacers. The Yokohama's are probably comparable, but pricier.

Since you're running 17x9, it's obvious you don't plan running in A Stock, but I think most of the people running ESP or SM are on 18's, so the stock class thread might be a better source of data. Of course, if you are running ESP or SM, you probably have lowered the car one way or another, so your clearances will be different...
