Just installed my brake pads

Whats up i just installed my brake pads bought some really cheap ones too, Bendix from Advanced Auto Parts, after the install i took the car for a ride and they really stop just as good as the stock ones, maybe if ur racing then it matters but these pads i only paid 27.99$ for the fronts, and 25$ for the back. If anyone else bought these and knows whether they last long or not. They do come with a limited replacement guarantee which states that if the pads become worn out then they will give you a free set (limited to one). Aight if anyone has/had these brake pads post your comments on how good or bad were they.

well they do and theyre cheap and from like 30 minutes of driving i didnt really see a diffrence the only reson i got them in the first place was because my pads were squeeking like crazy for the last 2 days and everwhere i went to get some Project mu or the green stuff pads they said i had to wait like 2-3 days, i went to advanced and they had the pads right there so i was like hell even if they last me 5000 miles they are still worth the 50$ or so i paid for all 4 of them. They fit good on the car and it took me like 1.5 hours to change all 4 wheels

Bendix makes pads for everything. Our shops main vendor is a company called Mighty Autoparts and they use Bendix labeled as theirs.

There's also Bendix IQ(Import Quiet) which are pretty good pads for most cars. Never tried any on the Evo though.

The problem with these cheap Bendix pads is that they're hard as rocks...so they'll completely destroy your rotors.

Brake pads, by definition, are consumable. Ever wonder how Advance Auto Parts can offer a replacement guarantee on a consumable like brake pads? Because your rotors will wear out before the pads do. Be careful

I just installed these on my car also, about a week ago i posted on here if anyone knew of them, i got no answer so i ordered them yesterday, got them today a lil after noon. i just finished driving on them to seat the pads and i must say they do feel like the stock pads. my stock ones have been squekin for a month now and in the mornin the brake light would come on when i would break hard so i guessed it was time for new pads. after i was done seatin the pads though they were smokin!!! i'm guessin its just till i finish breakin them in i hope. for those with the pink pealin brembos, if almost all the clear is gone like mine was you could try using regular car paint polish on them, i did and now there kinda shiny again. i dont know how long it will last , but they look kinda good again!

Yeah, he's in that group that, if I find myself in disagreement, I give my position a good re-think!

Considered as a regular passenger car the Evo has enormous brakes. For street use you could probably use some flat stones for pads and be OK. Just about anything has enough bite to lock up the wheels... once. The questions are, what will they do to your rotors and can they still stop you after you've come through the mountains?

I went to the Advanced Auto Parts webpage for this. You can go there to check it out. The have rotors too.

Here's what I found for a 2003 Evo.

Front Pads:
Bendix D1001 $27.97
Raybestos PGD1001M PGD1001M PG PLUS PADS $42.99

Rear Pads:
Bendix MKD961 $22.96
Raybestos PGD961M PGD961M PG PLUS PADS $28.99
Satisfied PR961C Brake Pads: Pro Ceramic $29.99

The only concern is how good are these pads. Would they destroy the rotors in the long run? How well does it stop in emergency situations?

Well the pads stop very good, they might grip better than stock, the only thing is every once in a while when you brake they squeak like crazy, maybe cuz i didnt resurface the rotor, or they are just so hard. I think they are more than good enough for regular street driving
