What profile tires for my car would be best?

I have a 03 Evo currently on stock struts/Tein S Techs, BUT i plan to get coils maybe Omnipower and save money or go crazy and get the Tein Flex.. Anyways, i have 18in R1 GTR-5s but cant remember width on those. Right now i have a225/40/18 tires and i think theyre way too low profile. I dont like spending 1000 on tires and probably end up getting some NeoGens for like $440 installed on all 4 corners but wanna get fatter tires as i want better traction, any suggestion on size? without having the tires be 1cm away from my fender

A 235/40 18 would be just about the same outer diameter as stock and would have a slightly higher profile than the 225/40s. A 245/40 would have a diameter about .5 inches larger than the stock tire and ~0.7 inches larger than what you have now. Hope this helps.

Yup, 235/40-18 would be the better size.

You need to verify if they are talking 245/45/18 or 245/40/18...

hmm good point,

anyone willing to speak on that? would running 235/40/18s or 235/45/18 be a big difference from running 240 or 245/40/18s?

40 sidewall, 45 would be too big. You should look at either 235/40 or 245/40. A 245/45 18 would probably be an inch or more larger than the stock tire diameter. You wouldn't want to do that. The 235/40 is the bast match to the original tire size, a 245/40 will give you a little more sidewall, but would also be about 0.5 inches larger than the stock tire diameter.
