You owe it to yourself to try the Ferodo DS2500s front and rear for a street setup. My current Centric rotors have lasted through two sets of those and now some "lesser" pads.

HPS where absolute crap on my Evo.

Also a great pad, GranSport GS5s. A little bit cheaper than the DS2500s, but great initial bite, like the DS2500s.

What would you say, if you have to compare Ferodo pads and pmu pads? I tried used pmu pads with oem rotors and little noise but I love their grap.

Edit: just wonder...I heard centric bought stoptech couple years ago, what is still diff between stoptech/centric?

Thanks

Which Project mu pads you talking about? I've some experience with the B-Force and NS (?) I think it was. The cheaper pads I was not overly impressed with, but they were no worst than OE yet less the dust. The B-Force seem to be a pretty decent Street pad.

I still like the DS2500s better. One of their claims to fame is also "feel". Brake pads actually compress a little upon application. Ferodo pads intentionally have less "squish" than most which gives a better feel. Both they say, AND my personal experience. I "say" you can actually feel the difference. I didn't find out that they "claimed" this effect until I installed them, had a firmer pedal with the same fluid, and went looking for answers. Then again, I once kept a repeated two ten thousandths tolerance on an aero frame skin... with a Dotco 90 degree pneumatic grinder. Part after part for a couple weeks. They were out of tolerance, and the whole line would have come to a stop had we waited for replacements. Point is, some may notice minute things other don't, so results my vary.

I know nothing about who bought who. However rumor has been for quite some time that they had been using the Centric rotors for quite a while.

Make sure you get the Centrics and not the cheaper c-tek's. I ordered from Rotorpros and got the C-tek's. I destroyed them in a day at the track.. rotor warped really badly or couldn't get the uneven pad deposits off. I was using the Raybestos ST43 pads. Another local member did the same to his c-tek's w/ the same pads.

The Centrics have p/n's 120.xxxx, while the c-tek's have p/n 121.xxx. The Centrics cost a little more than the C-tek's and are considered the "premium" rotors.

Hey Smike, looked at them... interesting. The GS5s are .49, the DS2500s are .50. Also, the DS2500s claim %35 less compression than most pads (pedal feel) do the GS5s have the same effect? From your site the GS5s are about $312 shipped retail price. The DS 2500s are the same. You can find the DS2500s for about $275 if you shop around. Are there any better places to get the GS5s? I'm somewhat interested in trying these in the future.
