H&R, DMS AND TEIN COILOVERS

Before owning an Evo VIII I had a German car and ran H&R suspensionand I was very happy with not only the quality but also the ride. I find alot of people are running Tein and like suspension set ups so how do Tein, DMS and H&R compare?

DMS is better than both Tein and H&R. They also cost more. Keep in mind too that these companies all have product lines ranging from springs to racing shocks.

What you really need to tell us is your intended use of the car. If you aren't racing it, then high priced coilovers aren't your thing, unless of course you want to spend the money.

kevo likes the D2's...not as nice as Mark's Ohlins and seemingly better than my RA's

BTW, the D2's are cheap. What rates again on those?

hahahahh, They said 9k and 11k, but I honestly don't know how accurate is that. I'll get the Ohlins if I have the money.

What are you basing this on.......................price

I'd say all 3 companies have very high end products, but considering you can't even rate between all three unless you have had all three companies on your evo, then saying that DMS is better than everyone else is like saying BUrger King is better than McDonalds without even giving it a try.

Actually some of the people that I know had raced withy DMS and for the evo, they hated them and went back to TEIN.

Don't forget about Zeal if you are looking for track coilovers.

Thanks,
Tom

scott88vr6.....

my opinion is based both on the perceived quality of DMS and my own personal usage of Tein. The price of the DMS is merely a factor and not the entire basis of my opinion.

That said I have owned alot of Tein's line with a couple cars. From the SS dampers to FLEX dampers and now the RA's on my EVO. I am not entirely impressed with them. The development (on Tein's part) was not entirely complete as the shock bodies are too large not allowing use of full camber from the plates. The answer from their tech service was a little lame and there seems to be nothing coming down the line to improve that particular problem.

Anyhow, the original poster still hasn't answered my initial question as to what the intended use of the car is.....

im thinking zeal might be the best bet right now based on technology, usa support, and exellent feedback. ENDLESS need i say more.

i had used type flex's, then some cusco zero 2r's on my various wrx's.

dms is kinda hit and miss from what i can find. 50mm sound sick. i think if your a race team you might have better support, but i hear lots of shaddy stories with impreza guys. basicly end users getting the run around on product support.

what about KEI OFFICE or ARGOSTA?
